Online Addictions Among Adolescents and Young Adults in Iran: The Role of Attachment Styles and Gender

The present study aimed to investigate the role of attachment styles and gender among different online addictions (social media addiction, gaming internet addiction) adolescents young adults via an survey. participants comprised 943 Iranian students (440 females) selected by multi-stage cluster sampling. survey included nine-item form Problematic Internet Use Questionnaire (Laconi et al., 2019), Gaming Disorder Scale-Short Form (Pontes & Griffiths, 2015), Bergen Social Media Addiction Scale (Andreassen 2016), Parent Peer Attachment Styles (Gullone Robinson, 2005). results showed that were negatively correlated with secure style, while insecure positively all three types addiction. also more involved in activities, addictive behaviors increased age, addiction was prevalent males than females.
